Marcel Hikers
Dear Sirs,
Last Friday’s hike was meant to be a perfect one. The weather was the best, sunny and relatively mild all the way to the end. Starting at 9 AM, which is the summer start time, was also perfect. We were back before we really started sweating. Ron Gaumont, Peter Catherwood and Mike Thomas joined me to this epic hike. I was hoping for more participation, but it was a real hike, not a walk-in-the park. In fact, when we stopped for a break at the last parking lot, I suggested since we had hiked 3.2 miles already, we could turn around. Perhaps, they all felt tired like me. I think the real reason was, my hiking companions felt bad for their old leader and did not protest. So we turned around and only totaled 6.4 miles instead of the 7.4 miles planned. No big deal since we have been to the very top a couple times before.
The next event on April 10 is the Los Alamitos Trail which starts at the Almaden Lake near Winfield blvd in South San Jose. It is a 4-mile walk and it’s mostly flat. Just a reminder that again we will be starting at 9:00 AM and will meet near the bocce ball court inside the park. Also, park outside along the curb, otherwise if you drive in you will have to pay for parking. I will send a reminder a few days before the event.
Help me get more participation. Bring a friend, a neighbor or a relative. Call me if you need more info.
Sir Marcel Tomassian (408)206-0532

P.S. I have attached a hiking schedule for 2026. Be aware that we can be flexible due to weather reports, requests from you, or conflicts with other events.
