Ken Hengst
The Branch golf club plays a variety of courses every Monday and at Deep Cliff every Wednesday. They also play in the Area SIR Golf tournaments and other golf courses from Monterey to San Ramon. We play to have fun but get competitive at times. Ken Hengst is our golf chairman and will be happy to add you to our roster if you give him a call at 669-272-9678.
On Monday we play intermediate to difficult courses from Spring Valley in the foothills near Milpitas, Los Lagos and Santa Teresa in San Jose, Dublin Ranch in Dublin or Cinnabar Hills in Morgan Hill. GOLF EVENTS
Callippe Golf Preserve
Date: Monday April 22, 2024
We had a fantastic round at Callippe with perfect weather and the course in good shape except for the greens. The greens had been aeriated and not completely recovered. We did very good on par 3’s but fell off the truck on the par 5’s which cost us the game.
Peter Catherwood, Charlie Raisor, Ken Walling & Nelson Chew finished 7th, had a great front 9 but faded on the back. Ken Hengst & his team came in 6th. The beat us again.
On Monday February 26 Ken Hengst, Ken Walling, Atsu Fujiyama, Peter Catherwood, Charlie Raisor and Bob Feldman played an awesome game at Spring Valley.
The course was a bit wet but we had a great time and even finished before dark. But the best part: Ken Hengst won and Ken Walling tied for 4th. On the dark side, due to technical difficulties, Peter Catherwood was closest to the pin but the contest was cancelled. Peter won but did not get paid.
On Tuesday September 26 Area 11 Tournament at Pacific Grove was a gorgeous day of sunshine but few birdies. Ken Hengst, Atsu Fujiyama, Glenn Darragh, Peter Catherwood, Charlie Raisor and Ken Walling enjoyed the beautiful vistas, sunshine and pretty good golf even though we did not win.

Our BR54 Golf Chair, Ken Hengst, has managed and coordinated this event. Ken Hengst, Charlie Raisor and Peter Catherwood will compete.

Peter Catherwood, Ken Hengst and Charlie Raisor had lots of fun but came in tied for 10th.
November 21 TURKEY SHOOT
We visited Spring Valley again in search of some birds. We had straight t-times starting at 10:00 but due to a frost delay, we started over an hour late and finished needing glow balls. It was slow but warm by the time we started but cold again when we finished.
From BR54, Ken Hengst, Peter Catherwood, Charlie Raisor and Ken Walling competed. Ken Walling took the win and a Whole Foods turkey breast (not a certificate – the real thing)
