Poetry in Motion  explores the profound connection shared between humans and horses across cultures and beyond borders. Over the last 6 years I traveled the world exploring India, Mongolia, Japan, Easter Island, Spain, France, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Indonesia, Romania, Switzerland and the USA. What started as a personal love and exploration evolved into a transformational life experience. My relationship to the world is changed forever.

Oliver Klink

Big SIR Hersh Brown welcomed a spirited group to a Thanksgiving turkey lunch. He introduced our new Director Charlie Raisor and announced that, due to no new volunteers for leadership positions, all members in 2024 leadership and committee positions will continue in 2025. Rob Miller’s guest Derek was introduced and a good group of people signed up for the Day Trip to the Air Museum in Morgan Hill. We then learned, from Oliver Klink, the skill, perseverance and love required to become the World Class photographer documented in his book “Poetry in Motion”

Besides lots of interesting history and you might remember the “Flintstones” where Fred took his family vacation using his flying car, well, you might be surprised about latest on Flying Cars which may become a reality in the very near future.

The Museum address is 12777 Murphy Ave, San Martin, admission fee is $7.00 for Seniors.  We plan to meet at the museum at 11:00am to allow enough time to see all of the exhibits.

Chuck and I look forward to seeing you at our final day trip of the year.

Marcel Hikers

Dear Sirs,

We were planning to conquer Mt Umunhum this coming Friday but the weather is not cooperating.  It’s supposed to rain and will be very windy.    Just to play safe, we will instead go to the Martial Cottle Park

starting at the Barron Park Drive entrance.  We will meet there at 10 AM. Just in case, wear a raincoat.  I remember doing that years ago at Los Gatos Creek trail and I even had an umbrella.  Let me know if you are planning to come.

Marcel Tomassian (408)206-0532

P.S.  I have attached a tentative hiking schedule for 2024.  Be aware that we can be flexible due to weather reports, requests from you, or conflicts with other events.

For more information about our Hiking Club along with pictures and information about previous hikes click Let’s Hike.

Monday November 25 there WILL NOT be a walk!

Hello mild hikers and neighborhood walkers.  Monday mornings we walk. The walk typically covers 2-3 miles of mild up and down streets.

During the summer we start at 8 AM at SIR Charles (Heck) Hecker’s place on Crisp Ave. just two and a half blocks east of Fruitvale Ave. near West Valley College.

If you’re interested let me know and plan on arriving between 7:45 and 7:55.  We try to leave promptly at 8.
